KPU chief to testify in document forgery trial

General Elections Commission (KPU) chief Abdul Hafiz Anshary is scheduled to testify in a document forgery trial at Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday afternoon.

“The witness will be Abdul Hafiz Anshary,” Masyhuri Hasan’s lawyer, Edwin Partogi, said Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.

He said that Abdul had been summoned as a witness by prosecutors.Besides Abdul, Edwin added, prosecutors would also summon other KPU commissioners Endang Sulastri and other staff as witnesses.

Former Constitutional Court staff Masyhuri Hasan was taken to trial when police found strong indications of his roles behind a fraudulent document linked to the result of an election in South Sulawesi.
