A former TV cameraman charged with his role in an attempted terrorist attack on a cathedral, Imam Firdaus, is scheduled to appear at West Jakarta District Court on Thursday for the first hearing in his trial.
Imam was arrested by the National Police Detachment 88 counterterrorism unit earlier this year based on information from fellow suspects who alleged he had been asked to film the explosion of a bomb planted near the cathedral.
The blast was targeted at Christians attending mass at the church for Easter.
Along with Imam, police also arrested Pepi Fernando, the
mastermind behind the bombing and several of his cohorts.
