The Finance Ministry's Directorate General for Taxation says it supports a raid conducted by the Attorney General's Office on Thursday as part of the AGO's investigation into alleged budget misuse in the directorate general.
The director general’s newly appointed spokesman, Dedi Rudaedi, said on Friday in a press conference in Jakarta that his office had never attempted to oppose the investigation.
“We support the investigation because we want the case to be revealed,” he told reporters.
Dedi denied the AGO’s accusation that his office “has shown no good intentions” in the investigation of alleged corruption in a procurement project in 2006.
“The only problem was miscommunication between our officials and the investigators. However, we fully supported the investigation,” he said.
“We are ready to provide supporting materials if necessary.”
