Corruption
Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Busyro Muqoddas asked fellow
Indonesian Muslims to use Idul Adha as momentum to fight against rampant
corruption.
“We
must not give up in situation where corruption is rampant. Being a
majority, we have the privilege to play significant roles in fighting
corruption so that we may deliver more prosperity to all,” Busyro said
before thousands of Muslims during the Idul Adha prayer in Yogyakarta,
as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
He
then asked his fellow Muslims to pay more attention to cultivating a
graft-free situation in their nearest environment as a sign of
disapproval of all corrupt practices.
“We
should contemplate and ask ourselves why our country, so blessed with
natural resources, could also be extremely poor at the same time. Now is
the time to act,” he said.
