President leads National Heroes ceremony at Kalibata

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono led a ceremony held in connection with National Heroes Day, at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in South Jakarta on Thursday.

The annual service was marked with moment of silence and prayers for the late heroes.

During the ceremony, the President, who was accompanied by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, cast flower petals upon the graves of several of Indonesia's national heroes.

The event was also attended by Vice President Boediono and his wife Herawati Boediono and a number of ministers and state officials,kompas.com reported Thursday.
