Democratic Party chief denies link to SEA Games bribery case

Democratic Party chief Anas Urbaningrum denied allegations that he was involved in the SEA Games athlete dormitory’s bribery case as claimed by former party treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin.

“I have stated this over and over again, that I am not, whatsoever, involved in the graft case regarding Nazaruddin as a suspect,” he told party cadre on Saturday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

The statement was made in response to Nazaruddin latest accusation during a questioning session with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Nazaruddin claimed that Anas was the actual director behind the graft case.

Anas then said that he expected people to follow the entire process without arguing over statements without proof.
