Elton John Jakarta appearance postponed till next year

Concert promoter Big Daddy has announced that British singer/songwriter Sir Elton John’s Nov.18, 2011 Greatest Hits Concert in Indonesia has been canceled due to a tight concert schedule and he would instead perform here on Nov.17, 2012 during his Asian Tour.

“The Elton John management has canceled the concert because he has an additional Asia Tour this year,” Big Daddy president director Michael Rusli said Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.

He said the management had included a Jakarta concert in the second tour schedule, which will be held next year.

He said the concert venue had also changed from the International Convention Center in Sentul, West Java, to the Mata Elang National Stadium in Ancol, North Jakarta.

Michael added that cancellations were a business risk that he had to bear. “It is part of the risk.”
