The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday announced that it was in the process of questioning former Bank Indonesia (BI) senior deputy governor Miranda Goelthom at its office.

“She is being questioned in relation to the Bank Century case investigation,” KPK news bureau chief Priharsa Nugraha said Tuesday in Jakarta as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

Miranda, accompanied by one of her staff, was seen entering the KPK building at around 10 a.m.

The KPK has been investigating the controversial BI bailout of Bank Century, which was worth Rp 6.76 trillion (US$750.4 million). The House of Representatives has frequently stated that the process and circumstances in which the bailout was made were in violation of the law, and suspected corruption behind the move.

Earlier, the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) revealed the results of a forensic audit of the Century bailout which showed there was a flow of Rp 1 billion from the bank to BI governor Budi Mulya, who the KPK has also recently questioned.
