The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) says it has moved outspoken PKS legislator Fahri Hamzah from House Commission III overseeing legal affairs to Commission VI overseeing trade.
Muhammad Nasir Jamil will replace Fahri as Commission III deputy chairman.
“Fahri is going to Commission VI and Muhammas Nasir Jamil will become the deputy chairman of Commission III,” Mutafa Kamal, the PKS leader in the House, said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
According to Mustafa, Fahri, as an economics scholar, was well-suited to Commission VI, which oversees trade, industry, investment, cooperatives, small and medium businesses and state-owned companies.
Fahri would also ensure better monitoring of recently appointed Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Syariefuddin Hasan, Mustafa said.
Mustafa said that he was confident that Fahri, who also sits on the House’s ethics council, would do well on Commission VI, just as he had on Commission III.
Fahri created a controversy in October when he proposed dissolving the KPK, accusing it of abusing its power and claiming it was not democratic.
