The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has agreed to provide protection to Hendri Kurniawan, a cellular phone credit theft victim who reported his case to the police, after he was recently attacked by strangers, his lawyer says.
“The request has been granted. The form of protection will be decided in the LPSK commissioner plenary session,” lawyer Bontor Tobing said Tuesday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
According to Bontor, the Agency has said the meeting would be held very soon.
Hendri said the attacks on him would not deter him from fighting for justice in his credit theft case.
“I will not revoke my report even though I have been assaulted. This is a test you face when you tell the truth,” he said.
According to Hendri, two men on a motorcycle slapped him and threatened to kill him after asking whether he was the man who had reported a credit theft case to police.
