Citibank to file civil suit if Malinda found guilty

Citibank lawyer Otto Hasibuan has announced plans to file a civil lawsuit against the bank’s former relationship manager, Malinda Dee, if she is found guilty for money laundering and embezzlement.

“We have planned this from the very beginning. Thus, once the criminal court finds her guilty, we intend to sue her over what she has done to the bank,” Otto said on Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.

Malinda Dee was reported to the police for suspicions that she had embezzled more than Rp 20 billion (US$2.2 million) of the bank clients’ money. She is now tried at the South Jakarta District Court.
