Stabbed student friends seek LPSK protection

Friends of the Pangudi Luhur senior high school student, Raafi Aga Wenasya Benjamin, who was stabbed to death at the Shy Rooftop nightclub in Kemang, planned to seek protection from the Witness and Victim Protection Institution (LPSK), said their lawyer.

“We plan to file the report to LPSK and also to the police tomorrow,” the students’ lawyer, Allova Mengko, said on Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.

When asked about the motivation behind the report, Allova said it was made simply because the students now held the status of witnesses in connection to a criminal case. He added that as of now, the students had received no threats from anyone regarding the case.

“We will speak up more loudly should there be any threats,” he said.

To date, more than 20 of Raafi’s friends have been summoned as witnesses by the police. Some of them acknowledged that they identified the person who stabbed Raafi, but the police have stated that they were still unsure of the assailant’s identity.
