Leaders of the 10 ASEAN member states are scheduled to meet with Indian Prime Minister Mahmohan Singh at the ninth ASEAN-India Summit in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Saturday.
Indonesia's Foreign Ministry said in a press statement on Saturday that the summit would seek to enhance cooperation between ASEAN and India in multiple sectors, including connectivity, economy and trade, disaster management and transnational crimes.
The one-hour summit will also discuss issues such as development gaps, and food and energy security.
“ASEAN and Indian leaders will also exchange views on the upcoming commemorations of the 20th anniversary of the ASEAN-India dialogue in New Delhi, India,” the ministry said in the statement, as quoted by Antara news agency.
