The government plans to send six mobile Internet service vehicles to Kupang, the capital of East Nusa Tenggara, in efforts to improve the local community's access to the Internet, an official says.
“The government plans to purchase the vehicles in January,” Kupang Communication and Information Technology Agency chief Otniel Pello said Monday as quoted by Antara state news agency.
Otniel added that the provision of Internet access would increase public interest in science and technology.
Each vehicle will have six Internet-connected computers and generator to power them.
Currently, the city has only one such vehicle with nine computers.
