Jakarta Traffic Police directorate plans to target public transportation drivers in a new program aimed at reducing traffic congestion.

“We have received many complaints regarding buses slowing down and stopping to pick up passengers on toll roads. This, of course, must be stopped,” Jakarta Traffic Police director Sr. Comr. Dwi Sigit Nurmantyas said Sunday as quoted by kompas.com.

He added that busses often stopped near toll gates, and that police had found that at least 26 toll gates were prone to traffic congestion because of buses.

“We will be firm on those drivers found clearly breaching regulations,” he said.
