President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono stressed on Tuesday that the wedding party of his second son, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono and Siti Rubi Aliya Rajasa, the daughter of Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa, taking place this week, has not used state funds.
The three-day wedding process began on Tuesday morning with traditional customs including recitals of the Holy Quran followed by a siraman (bathing ritual) and a midodareni ritual, which will be held at the bride and groom’s respective residences.
“Somebody asked me whether or not I have used state funds to pay for my son’s wedding ceremony at the Cipanas Presidential Palace. I said I fully understood when to use and not use state funds,” the President said after a wedding ritual at his residence in Puri Cikeas, Bogor.
“With all due respect, I am quite happy with guests’ attendance and prayers,” he added as quoted by tempo.com.
