Police to question Inasoc, stadium management over fans’ deaths

Jakarta Police will be questioning
the Indonesian SEA Games’ Organizing Committee (Inasoc)
and the Gelora Bung Karno stadium management over the deaths of two soccer
supporters.
“We want to know all the related
parties’ perspectives concerning this incident,” Jakarta Police spokesman Sr.
Comr. Baharudin Djafar said Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.
He said the police would also
examine any loopholes in the security system.
Two people were killed when they
were allegedly trampled by the crowd after supporters rushed into the stadium
after breaking through the gate at section 15 of the stadium.
The victims were identified as
Reno Alvino, 21, a resident of Cililitan, East Jakarta,
and Aprilianto Eko, a resident of Tangerang, Banten.
