The National Police have arrested three people who were allegedly involved in terrorist activities in Palu, Central Sulawesi, a police high official says.
“We have arrested three people in Palu and are still pursuing others right now,” Central Sulawesi Police chief Brig. Gen. Dewa Parsana said Friday as quoted by Kompas.com.
He added without further elaboration that police had also confiscated several firearms during the arrest.
When asked further about the identities of the suspects, Dewa declined to answer since this could jeopardize the ongoing investigations, he said.
Terrorism remains a security threat in Central Sulawesi, Dewa said.
The last case involved the shooting of three policemen in front of Palu City Mall in May this year.
