Fatahillah Museum will hold the “Gebyar Fatahillah” cultural festival
to commemorate the Islamic New Year, which falls on Sunday.
The five-day festival, to be held from Saturday to Wednesday at
Fatahillah Square in West Jakarta, will feature multicultural art
performances, marawis percussion performance, digital graphic design
artwork, documentaries and a photo exhibition.
“The festival is aimed at pushing up the number of visitors to the
museum and the square,” museum head Enny Prihatini said Friday as quoted
by tempo.com, adding that last year the festival attracted 10,000 to
15,000 visitors per day.
The Jakarta administration has set aside Rp 850 million (US$ 93,500 million) to fund the festival.
