A team from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB)’s Disaster Management Center will fly to Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan, on Wednesday to investigate the collapse of the bridge above the Mahakam River.
“We will come as scientists who want to learn,” team coordinator Ismunandar said Tuesday as quoted by tempo.co.
The team, comprising five lecturers and experts, will collect primary and secondary data for two to three days and analyze the findings in Bandung, West Java. The discussion will involve lecturers from different backgrounds.
“We are open to the government getting involved [in the discussion],” he said.
The discussion topic will include the bridge’s structure, the bridge’s foundation and the river water.
