Nazaruddin to stand trial this week

Former Democratic Party treasurer, former lawmaker and graft defendant Muhammad Nazaruddin is set to appear at Jakarta Corruption Court for the first hearing in his graft trial on Wednesday, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) says.
“Nazaruddin is charged with bribery and if found guilty will be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison,” KPK spokesman Johan Budi SP said Monday as quoted by tempo.co.
Nazaruddin has been accused of receiving a bribe worth Rp 4.3 billion from Muhammad El Idris, the marketing director of PT Duta Graha Indah, the contractor managing the construction of the SEA Games athlete's village.
Besides Nazaruddin, the case seen three other people named suspects — Muhammad El Idris, Mindo Rosalina Manullang (Nazaruddin’s sidekick) and Wafid Muharram.
