A new train route currently on trial in the capital introduces passengers to new feeder trains, which serve passengers from the outskirts of Jakarta wanting to continue their journey to one of the inner city stations.
The feeder trains provide two routes: Manggarai-Tanah Abang and Jatinegara-Jakarta Kota, stopping at numerous stations along the way.
The trains operate only in the morning. All up there are nine feeder train departures between 5.55 a.m. and 8.52 a.m.
Passengers using the feeder train services who continue their journey will not be charged any additional fares for the service.
Thursday marks the first day in a four-day trial for the new services, before an official implementation on Dec. 5.
