Research in Motion (RIM) Indonesia President Director Andrew Cobham, a suspect in the Blackberry sales-promotion mayhem, has been banned from leaving the country, the police say.

The police said that the ban also applied to suspect Terry Burki, a security consultant hired by RIM.

“Yes, both have been banned. This is part of the consequence of their actions,” South Jakarta Police Chief Sr. Comr. Imam Sugianto said on Monday, as quoted by kompas.com.

He explained that the ban had been issued by the police and sent to Immigration as soon as the two men were named suspects.

Andy and Terry, join two other suspects: Edwin, one of the event’s organizers and Markus, of the Pacific Place mall who have been charged with negligence resulting in the injury of others.

They are alleged to be responsible for the recent scuffle that broke out in a queue for half-priced Blackberry Bellagio units, which resulted in injuries to dozens of people.
