The
franchise holder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) brand in Indonesia, PT
Fastfood Indonesia, has earmarked Rp 300 billion (US$33 million) for capital
expenditures to finance the opening of 20 new outlets next year.
Fastfood
director Justinus D. Juwono said on Monday in Jakarta that the money would also
be used to renovate old outlets and upgrade equipment.
“All
of the [money] will come from the company's internal cashflow,” Justinus said,
as quoted by tempo.com.
He
added that Fastfood was planning to build 20 new outlets in 2012, with Rp 7
billion allocated for each outlet.
“This
means that about Rp 140 billion will be allocated to build new outlets,”
Justinus said.
The
company will renovate 50 outlets, he added.
Fastfood
Indonesia operates 403 KFC outlets: 150 in Greater Jakarta, 100 in other cities
in Java, 17 in Bali and East and West Nusa Tenggara, 75 in Sumatra, 30 in
Sulawesi, 22 in Kalimantan, three in Maluku and six in Papua.
