PT Ford Motor Indonesia (FMI), a subsidiary of US automotive giant Ford Motors, announced on Thursday a significant increase in sales, with 14,988 units sold from January to November, increasing Ford's overall yearly sales to date by 122 percent.

The All-New Fiesta contributed significantly to the increase, with 6,330 units sold during the January – November period, up by 44 percent over the corresponding period last year.

"Customers across Indonesia continue to be attracted to the All-New Fiesta because of its leading combination of quality, fuel efficiency, safety, smart technologies and value for money," Ford Motor Indonesia managing director Bagus Susanto said on Thursday in a press statement.

"The Fiesta has been an incredible success in terms of winning over many new Ford customers,” Bagus added.

During November, Ford also sold 453 Ford Ranger cars. The global truck shifted 6,729 units in the first 11 months of 2011. (swd)
