A former administration staffer in the prevention division
of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Endro Laksono, could spend 15
years in jail should he be proven guilty of embezzlement.
“The defendant has embezzled or is helping other people to
embezzle (state) money,” said prosecutor Surma as part of the indictment
against Endro before the Corruption
Court on Thursday as quoted by tempo.co.
Surma said Endro had allegedly embezzled Rp 388 million out
of a total Rp 1.5 billion budget that he handled between February and December
2009.
Endro’s boss suspected irregularities when, at the end of
2009, he submitted a suspicious administrative report where Rp 388 million of
funds could not be accounted for.
Due to the legal process, Endro was dishonorably discharged
from his position in December last year.
