Indonesian silk batik paintings exhibited in Norway

Sixty silk batik paintings of Joko Sudadiyo, a batik painter
from Bantul, Yogyakarta, are being displayed at an exhibition in Trondheim City
in Norway
from Dec.8 to Dec.22.
The exhibition, titled Joko Sudadiyo Batik Exhibition, is
being held at ISAK Kultursentet, a cultural center in downtown Trondheim,
the third-biggest city in Norway.
The exhibition was opened by Indonesian Ambassador to Oslo
Esti Andayani on Thursday, according to Antara news wire.
She expressed appreciation to Joko Sudadiyo for his efforts
in introducing Indonesia
through his batik paintings, and said it could help develop understanding and
friendship between the two nations.
Joko Sudadiyo was born in Bandung on Nov.24, 1965. He started painting
silk and cotton batik in 1984. He is a batik instructor and lecturer at a
number of education institutes, including the Indonesian Art Institute in Yogyakarta.
