The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating an alleged special relationship between one of its investigators with corruption witness Angelina Sondakh, a Democratic Party lawmaker who has been implicated in the graft case of Muhammad Nazaruddin.
“There are indications that [Angelina and the investigator] are in a personal relationship and we are investigating that now,” KPK chief Busyro Muqqodas said Friday.
Busyro described the relationship was more like a “teenage” relationship. The investigator, he added, was not handling the case involving Angelina.
“We have prevented [a conflict of interest] from happening,” he said.
According to Nazaruddin, Angelina had helped him to secure procurement projects for the Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry. (rpt)
