KPK investigator has personal relationship with Angelina

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating an alleged special relationship between one of its investigators and corruption witness Angelina Sondakh, a Democrat Party lawmaker who is implicated in the graft case of Muhammad Nazaruddin.

“There is an indication that the two [Angelina and the investigator] are having a personal relationship and we are investigating it now,” KPK chief Busyro Muqqodas told reporters on Friday.

Busyro described their relationship as like a ‘teenage’ relationship. The investigator, he added, was not handling the case that involved Angelina.

“We have prevented [a conflict of interest] from happening,” he said.

According to Nazaruddin’s allegations, Angelina helped him secure procurement projects of the Youth and Sports Ministry. (rpt)
