Wa Ode not only one at fault, PAN says

The National Mandate Party (PAN) says that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) should not blame party legislator Wa Ode alone for budget mafia practices at the House of Representatives.

“She should not take the fall alone,” PAN law and advocacy chief Patrialis Akbar said Saturday, as quoted by tempo.co.

He said that the KPK had to be fair and also question other budget committee legislators who Wa Ode revealed were involved in alleged state budget corruption.

“We hope that the KPK is not discriminative and pursue all the names that Wa Ode has mentioned,” Patrialis said.

However, he added that PAN would respect the decisions made by law enforcers and had vowed to help them reveal the truth and uphold justice.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Saturday named House budget committee member Wa Ode Nurhayati a suspect on corruption allegations.

The National Mandate Party (PAN) lawmaker previously angered her fellow lawmakers by speaking on television about the practice of corruption that plagues the legislative body.
