Vice
President Boediono reiterated on Monday that Indonesia was ready to anticipate
the impact of the Eurozone crisis thanks to strong economic foundations.
“Indonesia's
economy is still solid,” Boediono said as quoted by tempo.co in his
speech at the Kompas100 CEO Forum in Jakarta.
Boediono
said the global economy would face uncertainty next year, adding that with the
crisis in Europe, developing countries like China, India and Brazil would
likely experience economic slowdown.
However,
he said, the Indonesian government would prepare itself to anticipate the worst
case scenario.
Indonesia
had a valuable experience when facing the 1997 economic crisis, prompting the
then government to issue new policies in finance, real sector empowerment and
social funds, he pointed out.
