Police confiscate OPM shooting evidence

Rafli Amar said that a police Mobile Brigade special operations unit (Brimob)
in Papua had confiscated weapons and equipment used by the Free Papua Movement
(OPM) in Tuesday’s shooting against officers in Paniai.
“After the incident, the police found
evidence at the OPM National Freedom Fighters Headquarters in Paniai, such as
the weapons that they owned,” he said on Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Boy said the evidence included bullets,
guns and arrows, as well as a laptop and a modem.
On Tuesday, 10.30 a.m. local time, the
police and a group of OPM soldiers exchanged gunfire in Paniai, not far from
Timika, Papua, after a Brimob taskforce team came to patrol the area.
One Brimob officer, Chief Brig. Supono, was
shot and injured in the shooting. (awd)
