Mazda says local sales will top 9,000 in 2011

PT Mazda Motor Indonesia says it is optimistic about selling 9,000 cars this year, 12 percent above its 8,000-unit target.

“We are sure sales will reach at least 9,000 units this year,” company marketing manager Astrid Ariani Widjana said on Thursday as quoted by tempo.co.

Mazda sold 8,474 units between January and November, up 55 percent from the same period last year, she said.

Unlike other Japanese car sellers, Mazda’s sales increased in November, topping 1,071 units.

Mazda’s best-selling cars are the Mazda 2 (883 units), Mazda CX7 (74), Mazda 8 (44 unit), Mazda CX 9 (31), Mazda BT-50 (17 units), Mazda MX 5 (11), Mazda 6 (nine) and Mazda RX 8 (two).
