KPK excludes Nunun’s sick time from detention

The time that former fugitive Nunun Nurbaetie spends in the hospital will not count towards how long the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) can detain her on graft allegations, an official says.

“We have decided that it will be effective as of today,” KPK spokesman Johan Budi told kompas.com on Friday.

Johan said he did know when Nunun would be discharged, stating the decision depended on her doctors.

Nunun has been hospitalized since Monday, when she claimed to have developed a terrible headache when questioned by KPK investigators.

She was rushed to Metropolitan Medical Center Hospital near the KPK’s headquarters in Kuningan, South Jakarta, before being transferred to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta.

Nunun previously claimed to have “severe amnesia”.
