Rahmad Darmawan, the much-lauded U-23 national soccer team coach who resigned earlier this week, returned to his regular job - as a captain assigned to Indonesian Marine Corps headquarters in Kwitang, Central Jakarta.

“I have been back at the office since Tuesday,” he said as quoted by tempo.co.

Rahmad said he had no difficulties returning to active service, as his supervisors knew what he had been doing.

“They know that I was absent for good reason. They never gave me a hard time whenever I requested temporary absence from the service,” he said.

Rahmad resigned as coach citing disappointment with the National Soccer Association's (PSSI) decision to ban all players from the rival Indonesian Super League from PSSI teams.
