RI confident of 2 medals in Indian Open

Indonesia is confident it will bring home at least two badminton medals in the Indian Open International Challenge after securing a berth in an all-Indonesian final in the mixed doubles and women’s doubles today.
In the mixed doubles, Riky Widianto and Richi Dili Puspita progressed to the final by beating fellow countrymen Fadhilah Irfan and Weni Anggarini 21-15 22-20 in the semifinal on Saturday, as reported by kompas.com.
In the final, Riky and Richi will meet veteran compatriots Fran Kurniawan and Shendy Puspa Irawati, who in the previous round beat Indian pair Arun Vishnu and Aparna Balan 21-16 21-14.
The women’s doubles saw Indonesian duo Della Destiara Haris and Andini Suci Rizky comfortably booking their place in the final after beating Malaysian duo Florah Ng Sew Fong and Ng Sin Er 21-8 21-8.
Also in the women’s doubles final are Imawan Gebby Ristiyani and Nuaridah Tiara Rosalia, who gained victory over fellow Indonesian pair Komala Dewi/Jenna Gozali 21-10 21-14.
Another Indonesian to compete in a final is Alamsyah Yunus who reached the men’s singles final after beating Arvind Bhat of India 21-17 21-13. Alamsyah will face Indian Gurusaidutt R in the final. (awd)
