Police confiscated 100 liters of home-brewed liquor on a vessel traveling between East Nusa Tenggara’s Maumere and East Kalimantan’s Tarakan, which arrived in Balikpapan, also in East Kalimantan, on Monday morning.
Balikpapan Police chief Adj.Snr.Com. Sabar Supriyono said that a passenger of KM Bukit Siguntang was arrested with 30 liters of moke, a traditional alcoholic beverage from East Nusa Tenggara, while the owners of the other liquor had escaped, tribunnews.com reported.
Ahead of Christmas and New Year, the police have intensified raids against illegal items such as drugs, sharp weapons and liquor, on vessels in Balikpapan.
