A team of nine specialist physicians set up to examine graft suspect Nunun Nurbaeti announced Monday that Nunun’s condition had improved after being treated in the Soekanto police hospital since last week.
“We have examined her for five days. We have learned that she had vertigo and anxiety disorders. She also has unstable blood pressure and troubles in her stomach,” hospital head Brig. Gen. Budi Siswanto told a press conference, as quoted by kompas.com.
Budi, accompanied by the team members comprising neurologist, psychiatrist, cardiologist, nutritionist and psychologist, said that despite Nunun’s unstable blood pressure, she had no problems with her heart.
However, Budi said that Nunun had shown symptoms of severe depression and nervous breakdown, as well as decreasing functions of nerves.
“But overall, she is in a better condition now. The team has decided that Nunun can withstand an outpatient procedure,” he said.
Nunun, a suspect in a bribery case surrounding the election of a Bank Indonesia deputy governor in 2004, had complained of her “severe memory loss” made her undergo “medical treatment” abroad.
The wife of former National Police deputy head and Justice and Prosperous Party lawmaker Comr. Gen. (ret.) Adang Daradjatun, was arrested in Bangkok, Thailand, earlier this month after having been an Interpol fugitive since she was first named a suspect in February, 2011. (swd)
