Protesting in silence: A number of residents of Padang Island, Meranti Islands, Riau, stage a protest by stitching their mouths and refraining from eating in front of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Monday. They demanded the government revoke a 2009 Forestry Ministry decree that gives concessions of industrial forest to PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper, which they said had drained natural resources and put the livelihood of locals in danger.
