A- A A+

The Education Agency of Kutai Kartanegara in East Kalimantan has given more than 13,000 laptops to teachers in the regency on Tuesday in an effort to improve their quality.

The majority of the laptops, some of which were symbolically given during a ceremony at the regent’s office in Tenggarong, are still in Jakarta. They will be shipped to Tenggarong in 18 containers in phases, the head of the Development Section of the Education Agency, Jaka Rahayu, was quoted by antaranews.com as saying.

He said that the agency had bought 13,200 laptops, about 100 more than the number of teachers in the regency, in anticipation of any damage or defects with the computers.
