Dr. Sardjito General Hospital in Yogyakarta set up a team of 10 doctors and six psychologists on Wednesday to deal with the trauma suffered by passengers of a Sriwijaya Air aircraft, which skidded off the runway at Adi Sucipto Airport the previous day.

The hospital spokesperson, Rini Sunaring Putri, said that some passengers were shocked when they struggled to exit the aircraft. “Some were badly affected by the stampede,” she said after meeting with airport operator officers, tempo.co reported.

Five people were injured in the accident and are being treated in two hospitals, Panti Rini Hospital and Harjo Lukito Navy Hospital.

The National Committee for Transportation Safety is investigating the incident.
