The National Police is reshuffling several middle-ranking police officers in the Jakarta area, according to a statement from the National Police chief released Tuesday.

The Jakarta Police spokesman, the cybercrime unit head, and the North Jakarta Police crime detective chief are among the positions that will be handed over to new officers soon.

“The change will be effective shortly after New Year’s day,” City Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Baharuddin Djafar told reporters Wednesday.

The wire states that Baharuddin will undergo further education at the National Police Staff and Leadership College (Sespimpol) and have his spokesman duty taken over by Sr. Comr. Rikwanto.

East Java Police legal office head Sr. Comr. Imam Sayuti will replace Sr. Comr. Bambang Purwanto at the same position in the Jakarta Police. Bambang will hold a senior position at the Agency for the Protection and Placement of Indonesian Migrant Workers.

Cybercrime unit head Adj. Sr. Comr. Hermawan Februanto will be the new Tulungagung Police chief in East Java, Industrial and Trade Crime unit head Adj. Sr. Comr. Sandi Nugroho will head the Bandung Police, and North Jakarta Police crime investigation unit head Adj. Sr. Comr. Irwan Anwar will head the Madiun Police in East Java. (mim)
