C. Java police to deploy 3,000 personnel this holiday

Central Java Police will deploy more than 3,000 personnel to secure Christmas and New Year celebrations, a top police officer says.
“The monitoring and security measures will be set to the highest priority so that we can provide peace of mind for those celebrating Christmas and the New Year,” Central Java Police chief Insp. Gen. Didiek S. Triwidodo said on Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.
He said that police personnel would secure churches and public facilities, as well as important traffic lanes. (drs)
