Malang regent to work in underdeveloped villages

Malang Regent Rendra Kresna will set up a number of temporary offices in different underdeveloped villages the regency next year until 2014.
Spokesman of the Malang Regency Administration in East Java, Muhammad Hidayat, said on Thursday that at least twice a month, the regent will visit the villages in turn and work in each of the temporary offices for 36 hours, antaranews.com reported.
However, he said, the regent might not be able to visit all underdeveloped villages due to the high number, which reached 160.
During his visit to the villages, the regent will be accompanied by related officials in public services. Villagers can apply for identity cards, birth certificates, family cards, building permits and other documents at the temporary offices, which will be located in the residents’ houses.
