Three military officers held for illegal immigrant smuggling attempt

Three military officers have been detained for their alleged involvement in the smuggling of about 250 illegal immigrants, mostly from the Middle East, whose boat sank in Prigi waters, East Java, last week.
Spokesman of Military Command V of Brawijaya, Col. Sugiyono, said that the suspects, First Pvt. S., Chief Pvt. K and Chief. Pvt. KA, were from the Besuki military subdistrict command, Tulungagung, East Java, kompas.com reported.
They are being detained in the military police special detachment V/I in Madiun for further investigation.
