After accusing Anas Urbaningrum of being involved in the Hambalang sports center construction project scandal, Mohmammad Nazaruddin has now dragged the names of two additional Democratic Party leaders into the case.
According to Nazaruddin, Democratic Party deputy secretary general Saan Mustofa and party faction chief Djafar Hafsah both accepted money in the graft case.
“Yes, they were involved. I will explain later about where Saan accepted money and where Djafar accepted his money,” Nazaruddin said at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) headquarters on Friday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Nazaruddin previously said that party chairman Anas Urbaningrum accepted almost US$7 million from the Hambalang project tender winner, state-owned construction company PT Adhi Karya.
The former Democratic Party treasurer went on to say that the money was used by Anas to buy votes from executives of the party’s regional branches. (awd)
