President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said
Friday that corruption eradication was the duty of everyone and not solely of
the president.
“Not all law enforcement and
anti-corruption tasks are under the President’s control,” he said during a
government working meeting at the Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Yudhoyono said that not only the government
but also law agencies should streamline anti-corruption tasks.
The meeting was attended by Vice President
Boediono, Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Djoko
Suyanto, Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa and Coordinating People’s
Welfare Minister Agung Laksono and other ministers.
He added that corruption could hamper
economic growth, the bureaucracy and infrastructure development. (drs)
