GP Ansor in E. Java to help safeguard Christmas celebrations

The Ansor Youth Movement (GP Ansor), a youth wing of
Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in Jember, East Java will deploy at least 5,000 personnel
to help safeguard Christmas celebrations.
Around 1,000 of them will be mobilized in four districts of
Ajung, Kaliwates, Sumbersari and Patrang while the remaining 4.000 will be
mobilized at some churches.
“Mobilization of Ansor members has been agreed among our
branch organizers,” Jember GP Ansor leader Babun Suharto said on Saturday as
quoted by tribunnews.com.
He said the organization would also coordinate with the
police.
“We will safeguard Christmas celebrations so that the
Christians can celebrate Christmas at ease and in peace,” he said. (iwa)
