XL data traffic increases by 25.5 percent during Christmas

Publicly listed telecommunications operator PT XL Axiata saw a 25.5 percent increase in data traffic during Christmas Day this year, when compared to ordinary days.

In a press statement issued on Monday, the company said that data traffic on Sunday increased by 25.5 percent to 69 terabytes from the 55 terabytes received on normal days.

XL Axiata said that it also recorded an increase in audio call duration to 710 billion minutes on Sunday, up by 9.2 percent from the 650 billion minutes recorded on normal days.

An 11.1 percent increase was also noted in the number of short text messages sent, from 828 billion messages on normal days to 920 billion messages on Christmas Day, tribunnews.com reported. (swd)
