Jakartans spent more time on the city streets on Tuesday as traffic began to return to normal after the Christmas holiday.
Heavy traffic was seen at the Cililitan toll gate heading to Cawang, East Jakarta, at 7:50 a.m., and also in the opposite direction. Motorists plied the road at speeds less than 20 kilometers per hour, kompas.com reported.
Police said that traffic was crawling between Jelambar and Slipi in West Jakarta.
In South Jakarta, traffic has been moving very slowly – at times coming to a standstill – along the Tebet flyover heading to Casablanca since 7:20 a.m.
Traffic was also heavy at the Pancoran intersection heading to Kuningan, with both private and public vehicles on the road.
